Application of energy efficiency measures in historical buildings

Related KSC: HS27_H – To be able to carry out a process to select the most feasible energy efficiency measures for historic buildings, through the evaluation of a framework of needs, constraints and requirements (Highly specialized)
The Learning Module aims to provide an example of procedure for the selection of feasible energy efficiency measures for historical buildings. This procedure is provided by a reference technical standard that is EN 16883 – Conservation of cultural heritage – Guidelines for improving the energy performance of historic buildings (2017). A systematic approach is presented to facilitate the sustainable management of historical buildings by integrating measures for energy performance improvements and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions with the adequate conservation of the buildings.
